MarketPlace Resurrected

When the latest attempt at a local Newspaper came to New Plymouth, we agreed to stop offering paid advertising through the NewPlymouthID.com web site in the hopes that the newspaper could become profitable enough to survive.

It didn’t. The failure of the newspaper left us with no means for local advertising at all.

By then we were off to other projects, essentially abandoning the NewPlymouthID.com web site in order to pursue income-producing endeavors.

Lately our prosperity has returned to a state wherein we can afford the time to return to what is essentially a contribution to the community — something we feel every citizen should find their own way to do.

Even though there is a small cost for placing ads in the “For Sale,” “Services” and “Wanted” sections, it is anticipated that the income generated will fall well below the cost of maintaining the MarketPlace. We are prepared to make up the difference.

Additionally, a “Free” section is offered at no cost strictly as a community service. Why would someone want to pay for an ad just to give something away?

AND, if you or someone you know is being forced to sell their possessions due to an economic emergency, their listings will be free also. No ‘proof’ will be needed–just simply ask.

The new MarketPlace section of NewPlymouthID.com is a work-in-progress. If you have ideas about how to make it better, we hope that you will share them with us through the Contact Us page.

Also, due to our busy and distracting lives, it will take a while for us to begin checking and relying on the MarketPlace for needed items. Because of this, very brief notices will be placed in the NewPlymouthID Facebook page when new listings are added. This will continue until the MarketPlace become the foremost resource in our minds for local items and services.
